What Class Should I Choose?

🔊 Tap for sound

Teach you to need
another clinic.

You leave fired up. A week later, you're stuck again.

  • Group instruction where individual problems get missed
  • Drills without the principles behind them
  • No framework for troubleshooting misses on your own
  • Skills that don't transfer when you leave the arena

Teach you to
self-train.

Core principles of rope manipulation + mechanics + troubleshooting.

  • Individual attention — identifying your specific pain points
  • Principles you understand, not just drills you memorize
  • A clear method for diagnosing every miss
  • Tools to keep progressing long after you go home

Two Days.
Eight Core Skills.

Every roper works on what they need most. These are the foundations we build across the weekend — adjusted to meet you exactly where you are.

01

Rope Mechanics

The core principles of rope manipulation — how to build, deliver, and control your loop with consistency. This is the foundation everything else sits on.

Rope Handling Shot Set-Up
02

Stockmanship & Positioning

Reading cattle, understanding pressure, and putting yourself in the right place at the right time. Ranch roping is half cow — we cover that half properly.

03

Horsemanship Foundations

While this isn't a horsemanship clinic, we work on the drills and principles that make your horse's job clearer. A horse that understands the work is a horse that helps you win.

04

Shot Troubleshooting

Every miss has a cause. You'll leave with a framework for diagnosing your own misses — and the self-training tools to keep correcting them long after this weekend.

Meet

Dalton Darnell.

Dalton is a dedicated ranch roping clinician with a simple mission: teach the core principles of rope manipulation so clearly that every student walks away equipped to keep improving on their own.

His clinics are intentionally structured around the individual — identifying each roper's specific pain points, refining mechanics, and building the exact skills needed for measurable, lasting progress.

"I don't want you to need another clinic. I want you equipped to succeed on your own."

A Note From Dalton

Why I Teach
The Way I Teach.

At every clinic, my goal is simple: to teach each student the core principles of rope manipulation.

When these principles are combined with proper mechanics and a clear understanding of how to troubleshoot every miss, your confidence and consistency with a rope will skyrocket.

Each clinic is intentionally designed to meet students exactly where they are. Whether in a mixed group setting or a structured class format, I provide clear, practical instruction for every level of roper. If your goal is to become more consistent and versatile, you're in the right place.

While these are not horsemanship clinics, we do cover a wide range of drills and practical tips to help your horse better understand their role in the roping process. We'll discuss and apply foundational horsemanship principles that make your horse's job easier, clearer, and more enjoyable.

My focus is always on the individual student — identifying pain points, refining mechanics, and building the specific skills needed for measurable improvement. My ultimate goal is for you to leave with the tools to self-train, grow, and continue progressing long after you walk out of the arena. I don't want you to need another clinic — I want you equipped to succeed on your own.

Thank you for considering spending your time with me. I'm truly humbled by the number of people who want to learn this skill set, and I can assure you that you won't find a clinician who will work harder to help you achieve your goals.
